Harvest Garden

Our Story

HG'19-thanks2.JPG

The Harvest Garden is a community garden established in July 2010 on a previously vacant SFPUC owned lot in Hillsborough. The garden is funded by the Hillsborough Beautification Foundation.

In the past year, the Harvest Garden has undergone a renewal!  We have new garden beds and irrigation and a new Harvest Garden Manager, Ramona White.  Ramona is a longtime Hillsborough resident, and brings valuable experience to the Garden.

The newly refurbished Harvest Garden has produced and donated over 700 pounds of fresh organic produce to Samaritan House this year.  Our volunteers have logged thousands of hours in the garden. It is a wonderful place for residents with an interest in gardening to meet and share knowledge.

We coordinate workshops in the garden with Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, National Charities League, Young Men’s Service League, local garden clubs, the UCCE Master Gardeners of San Mateo and San Francisco Counties, and our local schools.
